Ever thought of sipping a hot cup of tea and using free Wi fi in a roadside tea stall?
That wish may be fulfilled soon as an organization (MUFT Internet) has announced that it has launched a technological system that will enable tea stalls in India with free wi fi access.
The company plans to set up its free internet access points at chai stalls, cafes, schools, hospital clinics, train stops and all public areas. “There will be no subscription fees, no data fees. This service will be free; all one needs is to create a WiFi account and enjoy free internet everywhere,” Vipul Patel, co-founder of Muft Internet project, said.
In a country where still 85 per cent of the population doesn’t have reach to the internet, this move may open a new window of opportunities. If the chaiwallahs across the country actually provide free WiFi to the customers, not only it will boost their sales, but will also improve the information imbalance.
In order to achieve the target, they have recently launched the first devices called the MUFT WiFi hotspots. The organization claims that with these hotspots they will enable tea stalls to provide free internet access to its customers. The pilot project begins with a small fast food joint in Mumbai and a hospital waiting room in Virar. The organization is reviewing applicants that can adopt these spots.
So, gone are the days when you would visit a fancy cafeteria for free Wifi, your nearest chaiwala can provide that too!
